Summertime and the living's...

m u g g y & b u  g g y...

Oh summer how you’ve changed! I look forward to you all year and then you charge in with your temps over 90 with humidity at its maximum and your thunder and lightning and rain! You toast my fair skin no matter how hard I try to hide and you manage to make my hair look worse with each coming day. But don’t worry my dear summer I still love you and will fantasize about you when I am shoveling a foot of snow in December.

Suddenly there are bugs e v e r y w h e r e! Just this morning I left the foil from a new jar of peanut butter on the counter and was later welcomed to the kitchen by a giant black mass with a marching trail…a n t s...I cant seem to get rid of them, my poor cat has to fight them for her food.

Summer is really a time to recharge and soak up some vitamin D, but it’s almost too hot and humid to even step outside, almost…we have to enjoy these summer days because they go by so quickly!

I planted my garden before Memorial Day and it is finally starting to produce some veggies  (So far three tomatoes and a couple baby yellow squash — yippee!) Can’t wait to have a surplus of veggies so I don’t have to go grocery shopping…ugh..it really is the worst of all shopping activities especially when you have to race home because you fear turning the AC on in your car will cause its ultimate demise.

What's in a name?

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."      Calvin Coolidge
